A group of norwegian immigrants first organized St. Paul Norwegian Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. Rev. Ole Jensen Hatlestad served as the church's first pastor. (This group may have been active as early as 1870) 1874 - First church was built on North 7th Street. Cost was $1126 for building and $325 for lot. 1897 - Members of First Norwegian Lutheran Church joined with St. Paul so a larger church was needed. A lot was purchased at North 10th Street and St. Clair for $750. 1898 - Church was completed. 1900 - Church bell purchased for $409 (still in use at current site) 1902 - Parsonage built at 630 North 10th. 1910 - Organ purchased for $2130 (this is still in use in our current church) 1956 - Parsonage purchased at 1215 North 9th, the old one was remodeled into a parish hall 1970 - Ground breaking held for current church at 2601 South 10th Street 1971 - Church dedicated 1988 - Church bell tower dedication 1992 - Organ re-dedicated 1993 - Church sign dedicated 2001 - Church welcomes Pastor Brian Staude Web site designed & hosted by Lakeshore Screen Printing 2006/2007.
